3 Lash Extension Myths

Happy New Year lash babes!! We hope you all had a wonderful few weeks full of holidays, parties, laughter, family and snow. For the first post of the year, I wanted to jump on and talk about some myths that are constantly going around regarding lash extensions. Lash extensions are amazing, wonderful and basically essential to looking gorgeous 24/7 without even trying, and clearing the air on some of the myths about them is a good way to let you know that some fears you may have about them simply aren’t true.

Myth #1: Getting Lash Extensions for an extended period of time can cause your natural lashes to stop growing

No no no no no. You do not have to worry about this happening. As long as you are taking good care of your lash extensions (cleaning them on a regular basis and not pulling them out) then your natural lash cycle will continue as normally as it would without the lashes. So whether or not you have lash extensions, your natural lashes go through a “growth cycle” and fall out and reform on their own regardless if you have extensions or not.

Myth #2: Getting lash extensions is painful

Oh my goodness this couldn’t be further from the truth. Speaking as someone who gets their lashes filled on a regular basis and falls asleep almost every appointment, it’s crazy relaxing. You just get to lie there, eyes closed, pop in a podcast on your headphones and zone out for an hour. It’s amazing self-care at it finest. If your technician is trained an knows what they are doing, pain will not be a part of your appointment.

Myth #3: If I get sick of having my lashes I can just pull them off myself

While we can’t ever imagine why you would ever want to get rid of your lashes, we understand that sometimes life happens and you aren’t able to keep up on fills. If this happens, DO NOT pull them off yourself, you will damage your natural lash by doing this. Either wait for them to grow out and fall out with your natural lash cycle, or come in and we will remove them for you We have special lash extension removers that quickly and safely break down the adhesive. After a few minutes, your lash extensions will slide right off.  Your eyes will be shut throughout the process.
