Introducing Kate! Our new Content Director!

Hi there! I’m Kate, the newest member of the Sirene Beauty team, and I am so excited to be here! I thought that since I am going to be the one writing the majority of the blog posts, I would introduce myself and let you get to know me a little bit.

I am 30 years-old, a mom of two (almost three…I will be welcoming a third little babe in November) and the wife of an accountant. I live here in Utah and love the beauty Utah offers. I studied Behavioral Science in college and I love working with and helping others. Writing has always been one of my biggest passions, and I am excited to utilize that passion here each week. Some random favorites of mine are: Sushi, Diet Coke, top-knots, taking photos, playing with makeup and hair, Reese’s Shakes, shopping, and hanging out with my family.

I have always loved all things beauty-related. I’ve been playing with makeup and hair for as long as I can remember, and in my free time you can find me scouring Youtube to find the newest ways of doing different types of makeup. And since this is a get-to-know-me-post, thought today I would talk about my top 5 favorite affordable makeup products that I can’t live without:

  • Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. If you need a good concealer that will cover up dark circles and blemishes, as well as stay all day long, look no further. I used to be a die-hard Urban Decay Naked Concealer fan for years, but since I started using this a couple of months ago, I don’t know how I ever lived without it. It truly is a game-changer.

  • Loreal BB Cream. I have a fair amount of redness going on on my face, and this BB cream is amazing at evening out my skin tone before I apply my makeup. And I also love that it’s got a primer in it as well…I haven’t used a primer for years because I feel this makes my face an evened-out blank-canvas to work with each time I use it.

  • Airspun Loose Face Powder. I don’t know how I ever used another powder before I found this one. It is extremely affordable ($6) and it lasts forever. I think I have had my jar for 2 years and I am not even half-way through it yet. It goes on light and airy on your face, and it really sets your makeup for an all-day airbrushed look.

  • Loreal Infallible SuperSlim Eyeliner. The only way I do my eyeliner is doing a cat-eye. I feel really odd if I have my eyeliner any other way, and this liner makes it extremely easy to get a good cat-eye without having to go to extreme measures to get it just right. I love that it’s liquid and also a pen. It stays all day long, and doesn’t run. It’s the only eyeliner I use.

  • NYX Butter Gloss. Not only is this gloss extremely affordable, but it really does live up to its name. It goes on like butter, and moisturizes your lips while wearing it. It doesn’t feel heavy, and the colors are really pigmented so you don’t have to apply a lot. It lasts a long time and I love all the different shade options they offer. My go-to color is the Creme Brûlée. It’s a really good nude with a slight hint of pink.

I am so excited to be apart of the Sirene Beauty Place Team, and to be connecting on here each week with you!
