Building a Clientele
Your Dream Clientele..
If you are a new Lash Artist congrats!! If you've in the lash game for a while it's never too late to grow and maintain a clientele that you love!
First step for a New Lash artist is decide what you are going to do, you have a few options; Commission, Booth Rent, Travel Lash Artist, and Working from home, all will require you to build your own clientele except Commission which we will talk about another time..
We are assuming you've already done the math, set up your prices and you are ready to attract clients. Nowadays potential clients looking to get a service done have access to the internet in their phone and that is the first place they will look at, that means they should be able to find you on Social Media!
Things you want to include in your Social Media Bio: Name, Location (State + City) Services provided (For example, Classic, Hybrid and Volume) or Volume Only, If you are taking new clients, Link to book an appt if you use online booking, or phone # if you prefer call/text.
Next tip is to stay active on social media, you have to put it in the work, post a couple times a week, post on your stories, encourage your clients to tag you so you can share their pictures, and use LOCAL HASHTAGS.
Take pictures!! Good quality pictures, its 2022 and the esthetics of a business its so important, take some time after each client and take pictures, make sure you have good lighting, get ALL the angles and choose the best for social media. If you are ready to invest in a camera, do it!!
Everybody should know about you and what you do, tell all your friends, family, tell your husband/boyfriend to tell all his friends, let's not forget about business cards, carry them with you all the time and don't hesitate to give them out whenever you see a potential client.
Client experience is everything, from the moment they are attracted to you or your work, the booking process should always be simple and easy, if you prefer text or call you must be able to get back that same day and be ready to answer all their questions ( That’s why I encourage you to have an online booking, with all the FAQ, prices, location, and availability to avoid the back and forth with a potential/client)
Think of every detail you enjoy as a client and go the extra mile, remember in the beauty industry specially with lash extensions we want to build a returning clientele, Clients love to be called by their name, and you should always welcome them, ask how they are doing, try to mention something they talked about in their previous appt (This will make them feel special). Talk to your clients, about add ons, new services and mention you are taking new clients to encourage them to refer you.
Studies have shown that every person will tell 2-3 friends about their experience or product, that is 2-3 new potential clients every time you see a new client!!
You should also try to pre book your clients with a few appointments in advance (this will create urgency, and limited availability, which is the main goal in growing a clientele, this will allow you to increase your prices and eventually close your books for new clients) ( Assuming that’s your ultimate goal when building a clientele).
(We will talk about good clients vs bad clients another time.)
My last tip will be to be available, this doesn’t mean you have to lash 24/7, but when we are first starting and really need to build a clientele, we need to do everything in our power and be a little flexible, once we get our name out there and our clientele starts to grow then we can start working less hours, and adjust our schedule as needed.
I hope these tips were helpful, and encourage you to build that dream clientele that you deserve, be creative and have fun!
Yanina =)
